Aeon Photonics is an independent U.S. company. We take sensing and ranging requirements from teams in aerospace, defense, robotics and industrial measurement, turn them into specifications a factory can actually quote, and stay on them through qualification and into production — one person, in your time zone, accountable for the answer.

What we do

The hard part is never the datasheet. It is getting a part that does not exist yet built to a spec you can defend.

A specification, not a part number

Most component conversations start at a catalogue and work backwards into your system. We start from the constraint you cannot move — mass, range, field of view, environment — and work out what has to be true of the part. Turning that into something a process engineer can price is the work.

Engineering access you would not get alone

A U.S. company approaching an overseas manufacturer at early volume is, to that manufacturer, one more enquiry in a crowded inbox. We put the request in front of the right engineer, framed the way that engineer needs it framed. A non-standard wavelength or package then gets a real answer instead of a polite one.

One accountable party, on this side of the ocean

Taiwan is twelve to thirteen hours ahead. Handled direct, every question costs you a day. Handled through us, you get an answer inside your working hours and the follow-up runs overnight in Taipei. When a spec, a revision or a lead time moves, you hear it from one person who answers to you.

Non-standard variants Usually a standard part with a different label on the box. Genuinely available, at the volume and on the schedule the factory sets. Scoped against your system first, then taken to the process engineers who would have to build it.
Turnaround Fast, but limited to what is already printed. Roughly one exchange per day across the time-zone gap. Same working day here; the follow-up happens overnight in Taiwan.
After design-in Order fulfilment. You manage the relationship, in their hours. One U.S. contact through qualification, revisions, documentation and volume production.
Best when You need a standard part, and you need it this week. You are large enough that the factory prioritises you by default. The part you need does not quite exist yet, and your volume is real but not yet enormous.

If a catalogue part will do the job, we would rather tell you that than sell you a development programme you did not need. It is a shorter conversation and a better reference.

Manufacturing partners

We only work with manufacturers who own their process.

Most laser module suppliers buy their die from somebody else. That is the difference between a supplier who can change your wavelength and one who can only change your label. Owning epitaxy through to module assembly is our first filter on any manufacturing partner, and it is why the customization list on this site is real rather than decorative.

Our primary manufacturing partner is Arima Lasers Corp of Taoyuan, Taiwan — founded 1998, vertically integrated from epitaxy through chip fabrication to module assembly, and certified to IATF 16949, the automotive quality standard. Its sister company Arima Communications Corp supplies the RF and SATCOM lines. Both manufacture in Taiwan, on an allied, non-PRC supply chain.
